Activation of PPAR by NEFA in MAC-T cells is best represented by a quadratic model and is dose-dependent. PPAR activation measured using a 3xPPRE-TK-luciferase plasmid and normalized by co-transfected TK-renilla. Data are expressed as fold change over DMEM control (NEFA = 0 mmoL/l) by serum mixtures with different NEFA concentrations.
